Kumotori Onsen (Takata Greenland)

Enjoy a day trip to the relaxing blue-gray waters of this onsen

Kumotori Onsen is located near the Takata-gawa River between Mt. Nachisan and the Kumano-gawa River. Takata Greenland is a simple alkaline hot spring. These springs are said to be effective in relieving common ailments such as neuralgia, muscle pain, and joint pain. Soaking in the blue-gray water of the hot spring in a pool made of rocks, surrounded by the greenery and listening to the murmur of the flowing stream and the chirping birds, is an experience of a lifetime. An indoor bath that uses Tendai Uyaku, the main ingredient in the ancient Chinese scholar Jofuku's legendary Elixir of Life, is also available.

View from Outside

The facility is surrounded by mountains and blends into the natural landscape.

Big Bath

In the large public bath you can experience a medicinal herb bath that uses plenty of Tendai Uyaku, the herb which brought Jofuku to Shingu from China.
