Notice regarding the Oto Matsuri festival
The beginning of spring in the Kumano area means the Oto Matsuri Festival is also nearly here. Though for years many have participated in this historical and traditional festival, in order to comply with novel coronavirus restrictions, the participation of those climbing the mountain has been suspended. It has been decided that only the priests and those assisting with the event will be allowed to participate.
We ask for your cooperation regarding the following points.
Note:
- Festival participants (noboriko), regular guests (including media) will be unable to enter the mountain.
- Please refrain from spectating the event from the area surrounding Taikobashi Bridge.
